The East Wing at Buckingham Palace was previously not fully available to be toured however after the restoration they have opened up 19 rooms to be walked through. It is particularly known for the balcony that is used for Royal family public appearances. There are many notable changes made, they repainted the Principal Corridor to a sage green shade to match the paintings hung up that pertain to Queen Victoria and her family and many more. Every spec was thought out so thoroughly, from the antique brass candle holders all the way to the fireplace.

On first glance, you would assume that there was a more neoclassical design done; however it is a Chinese inspired theme that's been carried over from George IV’s seaside retreat once it was sold. The details are impeccable. Did you know that you could clean wallpaper because the hand painted Chinese wallpaper in the Centre Room was removed and carefully cleaned. The glass chandelier that is shaped like a lotus flower and the original Chinese silk wall hangings that were gifted to Queen Victoria back in 1897 have also been restored.

It is incredible to see how well they are able to preserve such intricate and delicate items. The history of the palace is something to uphold and they did a magnificent job. Given the opportunity, would you tour the new renovations done at The Buckingham Palace?
