Creating Your Dream Nursery
Creating your dream nursery is one of the most exciting parts of a home to decorate. While it is such a memorable experience it could feel a bit overwhelming for some, especially to new mom’s who have so much going on. I think it should be a pleasant experience and for that feeling of ease we created a few ideas that will help you get an idea for the room.
A good wallpaper is something that adds the imaginary touch to the nursery. It’s fun and colorful and creates a little new world in your home for that bundle of joy. You can always go with a soft alternative such as the one we have suggested with the simple clouds. You can also do the the pink or blue hot air balloons. These are more on the subtle side however such a nice touch. If you’re looking for something a little more complex or busy the the world map is always fun. Our other two options as well are a good alternative for something creative with the animals and hot air balloons.
When it comes to a changing table you want to make sure that you are maximizing your space with something that has drawers you can use as storage. This will make reaching for diapers or baby clothes an easier transitions for yourself. Potter Barn kids has a variety of options to pick from for all sorts of baby necessities.
The crib is the most important part. It should be simple but it should still make a statement. The easiest way to go about it by sticking to a solid neutral color so that you can accessorize the other items in the room such as the wallpaper, changing table, decor, and nursing chair.
A nursing rocking chair is going to be one of the most helpful accessories for a new mom. It’s important to find one that is comfortable and cozy.
Once you have narrowed down the bigger items for your nursery it becomes much easier to pick out smaller decorative pieces. Another personal touch should be adding in a bold light fixture.
The last big piece to add is a rug to tie the entire room all together. You can always go with a simple pattern or something that incorporates a design that will catch the eye.
It’s important to add personal touches as well such as photos and children’s books. You can also add a simple curtain to the window and incorporate the baby name on one of the walls. You can place the crib towards a wall or you can place it in the center of the room and decorate around it. If you decide to put the crib in the center you can place the light fixture above it and a rug under it which will give such a unique effect to the room. The nursery you end up creating should be a calm safe space for you and your child.
I hope that in the midst of all of this you end up enjoying the process and creating your dream nursery. It is such an exciting time and I would love to help you out if needed to add my own personal touches.
