Whether you love fashion or design you love Tom Ford. Everything he touches he essentially turns into gold. As he is a connoisseur in many different subjects real estate and homes is among many of them. Nazeli Design is currently obsessing over Tom Ford’s London flat. 

Sofia Richie and Elliot Grainge’s wedding has easily been placed into the wedding of the century. She stole our hearts on TikTok and there is no going back. As I'm sure we have all gone to do a deep dive of the wedding we at Nazeli Design were also obsessing over the design and architecture of where the wedding was held.

Los Angeles is home to many celebrities and outrageously beautiful homes. At Nazeli Design we recently came across celebrity home, Tinder founder Sean Rad and fashion designer Lizzie Grover Rad and the only word we have to say is WOW. The kitchen and primary bath took our breath away. This space was designed by Jane Hallworth and we admire every movement of this carefully curated home.

The interior design process is a question we get asked often not just by potential clients but just in general. What’s the first step? What should I expect? We’re here at Nazeli Design to give you a breakdown of our process. Every firm runs things differently so this is just what works for us. First things first, you book a consultation with us. During this one hour meeting we do a walk through of the space to get an idea of the scope of work and also get a read of the client. See exactly what it is they are looking for and the overall vibe and aesthetic. We then curate a contract to entail what each party can expect. Once we have a signed agreement it is then time to survey the space where we get exact measurement and prepare for the design presentation.

Picking out lighting for a certain area can be a challenge. As a designer I find that sourcing lighting is one of the more time consuming parts of a project. It is always one of those things that you pick out in the end so it compliments the space rather than the other way around. To find a light that works once you have completed a space can be strategic.

The powder room is one of the most focal points of the design of your home. It’s where you can really go all out and step out of your comfort zone. Designing a powder room is one of our favorite areas at Nazeli Design. It’s just so much fun to create such an aesthetically pleasing space and works out so well because I feel like it is one of the more easier spaces to push a client to go into a more unique direction.

Picking paint colors can be an overwhelming decision. For example, what is the difference between dove white, eggshell, and just regular white? The many different shades of a particular color can consume you during a renovation yet makes the biggest difference. There are many ways to decide on the right shade. It is important to consider the purpose of the space. Depending on the different rooms is where you’ll be able to associate a color. Durability is also something you want to consider and if it is ultimately worth splurging for a different paint type and finish. 

I always knew I wanted to go into design, whether it was fashion or interior design. After working in both industries, I soon realized that interior architecture was where my passion was. I attended FIDM where I received my bachelor’s degree in interior design. I learned a lot through this program but it was through my long hours and experience of working where I gained so much experience and knowledge.

Creating a vintage Parisian library is something we would love to perform at our firm. We created a moodboard or an idea some would say of my current favorites that we would use to design this space.  One of the key elements we had to start with was of course herringbone flooring. It was almost a must when creating this library/office space.

Hiring an interior designer can be a fun yet intimidating process. There are many different things to consider. One of the most common mistakes that we see at Nazeli Design is when clients hire us or any designer for that matter late in the process. It is actually more ideal to hire a designer prior to even starting construction. When you bring on your contractor you should at that point already have your designer on board as well. 

There are so many different fabrics when it comes to design. This not only applies to interiors design and furniture but also fashion design as well! You can essentially reupholster almost all your furniture and repurpose them rather than throwing it out. You just need to be careful with which fabric you end up choosing.

We are so excited to ring in the new year! With 2023 right around the corner we know there are going to be new interior design trends. It does not necessarily mean there will only be new trends but rather current ones will carry over as well.
